[2 September 2026], Singapore — The Global Asia Insurance Partnership (GAIP) today announced a strategic partnership with Cathay Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (Cathay Life), which has joined GAIP as a Principal Partner. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening resilience across Asia by addressing protection gaps and emerging risks through collaboration, evidence and practical action. Cathay Life joins a network of partners consisting of industry players, regulators, academia, insurance associations and international bodies, such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Chinese Taipei Financial Supervisory Commission, and World Economic Forum, amongst others.
Established in 1962, Cathay Life is Taiwan's largest insurance company and one of the industry's pioneers. As of 30 June 2026, it serves more than eight million customers —over one-third of Taiwan's population—and manages more than 20 million valid insurance contracts. With life insurance operations in Taiwan, a joint venture in mainland China, and a subsidiary in Vietnam, Cathay Life brings extensive market experience and a regional perspective to GAIP's tripartite platform, which convenes the insurance industry, regulators and policymakers, and academia.
