Capacity Building Programme

ADBI–GAIP Capacity Building Programme on Risk Resilience and Protection Gaps

Disasters, climate change, health and demographic shifts, and economic shocks are changing the risk landscape across Asia and the Pacific, while significant protection gaps continue to leave households, businesses, and governments vulnerable. Addressing these challenges requires a shift from reactive responses toward better risk understanding, stronger cross-sector risk management, effective risk financing, and greater institutional coordination.

To support this, the Global Asia Insurance Partnership (GAIP) and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) developed this capacity building programme to support policymakers in better understanding, assessing and addressing these risks to support more resilient fiscal, economic and social outcomes.
