
Regional Lead, Asia-Pacific, UNDP Insurance & Risk Finance Facility
Diana Almoro is the Regional Specialist for Insurance and Risk Finance at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), based in Bangkok. She leads the development and delivery of insurance and risk financing programmes across more than ten countries in Asia and the Pacific, supporting governments and partners to integrate risk transfer solutions into sustainable development frameworks.
With over 20 years of experience spanning inclusive insurance, public policy, financial inclusion, and local governance, Diana has worked with public and private sector champions to close the protection gap for vulnerable communities by promoting accessible and sustainable risk transfer solutions. Her work focuses on enabling enabling environments through regulatory reform, innovative programme design, and multi-stakeholder partnerships. Prior to joining UNDP, she held senior advisory roles with GIZ and the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative, supporting inclusive insurance markets and advancing environmental, social, and governance integration in the financial sector. Diana holds a Master's degree in International Development and Environmental Analysis from Monash University in Australia.
