Chief Risk Officer and member of the Executive Committee, Swiss Re P&C Reinsurance
Attila Kerényi is the Chief Risk Officer and a member of the Executive Committee for Swiss Re's global Property & Casualty Reinsurance Business Unit. In this role he provides independent assurance that P&C re/insurance risks are appropriately controlled, and operational risks are reliably identified and mitigated. As a member of the Underwriting Committee he approves underwriting policies, portfolio strategy as well as large transactions. He is also responsible for Risk Management of Swiss Re's Risk Data Solutions business and oversees Sustainability Risk Mgmt. as well as Regulatory Risk Mgmt. across Swiss Re Group. Mr. Kerényi is a member of the Board of Directors of Swiss Re's market-leading Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) structuring and investment management entities. In 2022 he was the Chief Risk Officer of iptiQ, Swiss Re's global digital B2B2C life and non-life primary insurer.
Mr. Kerényi started his career at Swiss Re in 2000 as a Property and Casualty underwriter. He subsequently held various roles in Zurich/Switzerland and Madrid/Spain, covering underwriting, strategy, M&A and business development. In 2008 he moved to Asset Management in New York, where he oversaw the execution of Swiss Re's investment strategy across externally managed asset classes. In 2015, Mr. Kerényi assumed the role of Head Group Financial Risk Management and Chief Risk Officer for Asset Management as well as Alternative Capital Partners. In this role, he covered all market, credit and valuation risk exposures across Swiss Re Group from investment and corporate finance as well as re/insurance underwriting, structured transaction and retrocession activities. Attila Kerényi was born in Switzerland and earned a Master's degree in Geography with a focus on Economics, Politics and Mathematics from the University of Zurich. He completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and is a CFA Charterholder (Chartered Financial Analyst). Mr. Kerényi is married with two children and lives in New York City.
