Who We Are:

The Global Asia Insurance Partnership (GAIP) is an innovative tripartite partnership between academia, insurance supervisors, and the insurance industry in Asia. Our vision is to create a more resilient future in Asia, via narrowing Asia's protection gaps. We do this through:

  • catalysing action on emerging and accelerating risks; and
  • supporting the future development needs of the sector.

We are a growing team of high-energy professionals keen to positively impact how Asia addresses emerging and accelerating risks such as pandemics, climate-related risks, and ageing societies while also supporting innovation.

The Role:

We are looking for a Director  who can drive and support our activities, working with the team to establish GAIP as the leading voice of the Asian insurance sector on the global stage as we progress on the journey to support the narrowing of Asia's protection gaps. Key responsibilities of the Director will include:
  • Driving GAIP talent development initiatives to achieve our talent development goals;
  • Support certain Living Lab and Policy Think Tank initiatives, ensuring that the initiatives and research are relevant and add value to GAIP partners. From time to time, this may involve:
    • undertaking quantitative and qualitative research and analysis, including authoring or co-authoring policy papers; and/or
    • project management of initiatives or projects where required.
  • Ownership and facilitation of one or more of the GAIP Working Groups; and
  • Management of certain internal operations functions.

What You Bring:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • More than 10 years of experience in relevant fields of risk management or insurance, ideally in non-life insurance, with at least 5 years in senior positions that require senior-level private and public sector stakeholder management.
  • Tertiary and professional qualification in relevant fields such as risk management, financial management, actuarial, etc.;
  • Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries and to function effectively both as a member of a team and individually as required;
  • To be a self-starter, with a demonstrated high level of initiative;
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards; and
  • Fluency in written and oral communication in English. Additional language skills are an advantage;

Also:

  • Experience in the financial services public sector, especially in Singapore, is an advantage;
  • Singapore citizen or permanent resident preferred.
