Director of Research and Dialogue

Description of Role:

This Director leads GAIP's life, health, retirement, climate-related and protection gaps-related research and initiatives, and Policy Dialogues initiatives. This role will also oversee administrational operational functions, ensuring strategic alignment and operational effectiveness in delivering valuable insights and practical solutions for GAIP's partners.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

· Direct and manage life, health, retirement, climate risk and protection gap research projects, ensuring outputs are rigorous, actionable, and aligned with partner needs.

· Lead the policy engagement and dialogue strategy and initiatives, positioning GAIP as a thought leader capable of influencing policy and industry practices, and more importantly, GAIP to be the catalyst in Asia to create action from insights and dialogues.

· Manage and coordinate comprehensive operational functions, including office administration, IT infrastructure, data management, general administrative processes, and vendor management.

· Facilitate industry engagement via the Life and Health Working Group, driving collaborative projects and knowledge sharing.

· Contribute strategically to fundraising and partnership engagement activities, articulating the value proposition to potential and existing partners.

· Support other initiatives or operational matters as required.

Key Requirements:

· At least 10-15 years of professional experience in life and health insurance, actuarial science, risk management, or closely related fields.

· Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, actuarial modelling, or risk analytics.

· Organisational and operational management skills, including experience managing administrative teams and operational resources.

· Proven ability in fostering effective collaborations across diverse stakeholders including industry, regulatory bodies, and academia.

· Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills, capable of influencing diverse audiences.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail, and strategic thinker with a strong ability to translate complex issues into actionable insights and practical policy recommendations.
